Short Trip

"And how long is this trip going to take?"

Daniel sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose.  "Look, the Asgard weren't specific about what they wanted, only asked that Jack or General Landry come along.  It's only a few days to Orilla, a few days there, then home again.  A week, Vala, maybe two."

"I'll go crazy," the dark-haired woman declared.  "There's nothing to do!"

"I'm sure you'll think of something," Daniel answered, packing another translation project.  "Something that doesn't involve harassing me."

"You're no fun," she sulked. "I'm telling you, I'll go crazy."

"Short trip," he muttered.

That's my classic response whenever anyone says something is "driving them crazy". (It's a short trip to get to crazy.)  Of course, it may also be viewed as Daniel's fervent wish for their journey to be a short trip, but in an unrealized timeline, it was anything but...
